How to calculate your
Life Path number
Reduce the month, day, and year separately. Preserve master numbers when they appear. Then combine the three results and show the unreduced compound before the final core.
The method in one sentence
Month reduction + day reduction + year reduction = compound → core Life Path.
This is the component method LifePathia uses as its declared standard. Declaring the method matters because another common approach—adding every birth-date digit at once—can expose a different master-number step.

Add 1 + 0. The month component is 1.
- Day14 → 5
Add 1 + 4. The day component is 5.
- Year1989 → 27 → 9
Add 1 + 9 + 8 + 9 = 27, then 2 + 7 = 9.
- Combine1 + 5 + 9 = 15 → 6
The standard full path is 15/6. The primary Life Path is 6.
When to preserve master numbers
LifePathia preserves 11, 22, and 33 whenever the component method lands on one of them. A day of 29 reduces to 11 and stops there. If the three final components add to 33, the standard result is written 33/6: master expression first, root second.
Why keep the compound?
The final digit gives the core theme, but the unreduced sum records the route. That is why 15/6 is more informative than either “15” or “6” alone—provided the hierarchy stays clear. The 6 is the identity; 15 adds texture.
What if your result has more than one reduction?
Keep each arithmetic step visible. For example, a year might reduce from 1995 to 24 and then 6. The intermediate number is not a second Life Path; it is simply part of the calculation trail. The same rule applies to the final sum.
What if another site disagrees?
Check its grouping rule before deciding one calculator is wrong. If it adds every digit straight across, it may expose a master number that the component method does not. The important professional habit is to label the method and keep one standard.
